A View from the Crow’s Nest

I’m writing this from the best B&B on Bowen Island, the Lodge at the Old Dorm. It’s our annual Labour Day Cruise to Snug Cove on Bowen Island, and we’re having a fabulous time. Last night was appies on the dock, and our Squadron pulled through with the usual copious amounts of gourmet-worthy food. If you’ve never come on a Burnaby Squadron cruise, you should try it – just for the food. The companionship is exceptional, too.

Burnaby Squadron is looking forward to a great year. We have some new (ish) folks on the Bridge, and they have great new ideas to make our Squadron the best in Pacific Mainland District. If you didn’t catch our live Breakfast TV spot, it’s available for viewing on this website. Past Commander Rob, Webmaster Brent, Social Media Officer Sara, and newest (and youngest) Bridge Member-at-Large Olivia showed just why you need to take one of our safe boating courses. Plus you get to see Brent fall (or was he pushed?) into the water.

Our Squadron is always on the lookout for new members, volunteers, proctors, instructors, and Bridge members. If you want to get more involved, even if you are just looking for a buddy to go alongside on your first trip across the Strait, give us a call or send an e-mail. We love boating, and want to share it with as many folks as possible.

Commander (and Past Commander) Bev
