Cdr. Mike’s Memo to all Members and Friends

Summer is not quite over but the signs are here!!!!!!!!!!

Jenn and I have been quite busy this past summer but unfortunately it was not enough  time on the water.

Our Squadron met earlier this summer to review what the future holds for us and how we can continue to present education, socials, cruises and other activities. We formed a sub-committee and met with Coquitlam and Royal City Squadrons on possible joint education and other activities.

I invited Coquitlam and Royal City to our Labour Day cruise and all three Squadrons will be participating. It will be our usual format of Friday early arrivals, Saturday pot luck, Sunday probably at the Pub and Monday farewells. If you are planning on attending please, please, please let Cruise Master Neal know you are coming so we can plan accordingly. Even if you are just coming for the day, please let us know.

Our three respective Squadrons have also decided to try and coordinate our fall courses as a joint effort. I expect growing pains for the fall but hope to resolve any bumps in the spring classes. Please bear with us over this transitionary period. We have two VHF courses all set up and are still in the process of setting up the boating courses. One of the issues is setting up joint courses through our National web site. P/C Bev is working hard at moving mountains but the electronic hurdles  keep putting up obstacles and time is just short for our fall courses.

Check out our website www.burnabysquadron.com and also www.cps-ecp.ca under courses for further details on these and other upcoming activities. (PS, as I already noted, we are seeing growing pains so if the information does not appear to be up to date, please call one of our Bridge members. We are in the Roster).
