March Madness Memo

Our Steamworks Brew Pub was such a success that we have booked another Pub Night. This is the ultimate Pub Night as it falls on St Patrick’s Day. Festivities will be held at the Admiral Pub on Hastings Street starting at 1700, which is when happy Hour specials commence. So come on out, hoist a Guinness. See below for details.

Alaska Bound Adventures on board Deep Pockets presented by the Lindroos’ at Confederation Centre on March 9th. Please note the start time is 1900 hours. Whoever sent out the February notice, I won’t mention my name, did not know how to use a 24 hour clock. See below for details.

Seattle Power and Sail Squadron will be holding their COW on April 9th. We already have a contingent of our Burnaby members heading on down so let’s add more to our list.

Jerry Powers will be holding a Recreational Vehicle Courtesy Check training session sometime in March on a Saturday morning. If you are interested in becoming a RVCC Volunteer, please contact him at 604 921-8896 or Please also copy Commander Mike if you are interested.

We have a number of activities planned and upcoming education courses, which are summarized below:

March 1 – Boating 2 – Beyond the PCOC – 6 week course

March 9 –Alaska Bound Adventures presentation at Confederation Seniors Centre. 4585 Albert Street, Burnaby.

March 21 – Safety day planner at the Burrard Pub with Port Moody and Coquitlam Squadrons at 1900.

April 12 – Boating 3 – Introduction to Navigation – 6 week course

April 14 – Pub Night – Location TBD

April 20 – BPSS AGM at Confederation Seniors Centre

May 21 to 23 – Victoria Day Cruise to Gibsons

May 28 – PMD AGM.

June 4 – Reed Point Marina Safety Days. 10:00 until ????
– Burnaby, Port Moody and Coquitlam Squadrons are teaming up to present an RVCC safety boat inspection along with activities. This should be an exciting day and planning is still in progress.

June 5 – Squadron Cruise to Alderside Landing. (Aka Ambassador Darlene’s dock at 940 Alderside Rd. Port Moody.)
