Well friends, another edition of the Scuttlebutt is upon us. Just as predictable, the weather has begun to change. All the boat shows are over, the easy boating weather is done for another year and there are those of you that are putting your boats away for the season. My condolences!!
There are also those heartier souls that just throw on a sweater and enjoy the cooler days of fall boating. Whichever category you fall into, let’s not forget the upcoming squadron events:
- October 27th — multi squadron Halloween party at Port Moody Royal Canadian Legion #119. The perfect opportunity for ghoulish behavior. Muahahahaha, (evil laughter). Beginning at 1900 hours and continuing until the witching hour. More information on page 8 and on our web site: http://www.burnabysquadron.com.
- November 11th — Port Moody squadron has, once again, graciously invited us to join in their Remembrance Day ceremonies at Belcarra Park. Ceremony begins at 1030 hours at the dock.
- December 4th — student grad and Christmas dinner. Details will be on the website shortly.
On a side note, I would like to encourage all squadron members to feel free to send in stories of their adventures on the water for publishing in the scuttlebutt. We would love to see what everyone is up to.
I know it is a tad early but there will not be another Scuttlebutt until the New Year so I must say it now.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
In closing — Keep an even keel and carry on.
